How Armor and Helmets Work in Marauders (2024)

Since the trend for Battle Royales started, game developers popularized mechanics that not only made players have to focus on their weapons and skills with them, but also additional survival elements came into play. With games such as PUBG and Escape From Tarkov, players now have to consider other factors, such as the protection they wear and their inventory.

Furthermore, in games like this, it is essential to be mindful of the armor the enemy might be wearing and the caliber to know if the player can deal enough damage.

For obvious reasons, Marauders is a tactical extraction shooter that has implemented mechanics like this, where players will have to find and grind for better pieces of armor that will allow them to get protected from higher calibers. Moreover, the game pushes players to obtain the best weapons in Marauders that can penetrate heavy armor or helmets an enemy could be wearing.

Overview of Marauders’ Basic Combat

Marauder’s combat can be compared to other extraction looters where skill and the gear the player uses are significant factors that contribute to whether a player will survive a mission or not. The game’s mechanics can be very daunting for some new players, especially those new to extraction shooter games like Hunt: Showdown.

For those players just getting started, we’ve created a useful beginner’s guide to Marauders combat to help get you started out on the right foot. For the purposes of this article, we will be digging very deeply into the armor and protection a player can bring to help them survive in Marauders combat. A player in this game must identify what armor and helmets will protect them against what kind of calibers and vice versa.

A player using a Leather Jerkin with an MP40 as their gun will have an awful time against a player wearing a Panzer Armour and a BAR rifle, as the player will the heavy armor will be able to tear their enemy apart. In contrast, the pirate with weak armor will have to put in a lot more bullets to do some damage.

Players will also have to carry healing items to replenish HP during or after a fight.

Ammo Type and Caliber Basics

The damage a pirate receives will vary depending on the ammo type, and caliber the player gets shot with based on their protective gear. Weak armor will barely protect the player from medium or heavy calibers. Because this is important, the player is always aware of his capabilities based on what armor and helmet they are wearing and what weapons he has equipped.

The Armour in Marauders can vary depending on their protection level and hit points.

Players can wear vests or rights for damage resistance, depending on the caliber. Some armor can also provide the player with some inventory slots.

It offers almost no protection to any caliber.

It can slightly protect players’ chests from small calibers.

  • Leather Jerkin – Level 6: It can be crafted and found in raids
  • M1-Flak Rig – Level 6: Only available through crafting
  • M1 Flak Vest – Level 6: Can be purchased from the trader or found in raids

For instance, in an economy run where you are just trying to earn money and loot, this is a decent choice for armor that will not break the bank.

It will protect you against the most common enemies in Marauders, yet not the more elite NPCs nor more determined human players with high-caliber weapons. Thankfully, these are much rarer.

Yet, it also will help you stay alive longer than man other options.

That being said, it’s still not great, and we recommend you find your way into at least light head armor as soon as possible when you may face any human opponents in Marauders.
